Senior Forecasting Analyst

ROLE OVERVIEW
Novartis is seeking a Senior Forecasting Analyst to join its Strategy & Growth team in Hyderabad, supporting pipeline and lifecycle forecasts that shape commercial and investment decisions across the global portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of epidemiology, commercial strategy, and data analytics, requiring deep pharmaceutical domain knowledge and the ability to translate complex data into actionable forecasts. The successful candidate will influence board-level reviews and BD&L opportunity assessments for therapeutic areas, helping Novartis prioritize pipeline assets and optimize lifecycle management. ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- •Execute strategic forecasting for pipeline products, including epidemiology-based patient funnel, long-range revenue, and lifecycle management forecasts.
- •Build assumptions and analogs using secondary desk research, market research, and clinical trial databases to support asset valuations.
- •Prepare comprehensive forecasting assessments and PowerPoint decks for leadership, board reviews, and BD&L opportunity decisions.
- •Analyze strategic business questions and deliver forecasts through structured, documented, and clearly communicated processes.
- •Leverage databases, secondary research, and new data technologies to capture insights on disease areas, markets, and assets.
- •Collaborate with Therapeutic Area Strategy, Commercial Marketing, CI, PMR, and Business Analytics teams to build integrated assessments.
- •Work with internal teams and external vendors to deliver critical projects and enhance forecasting capabilities.
- •Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and ensure compliance with Novartis legal, IT, HR, and operating procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate degree in Engineering, Pharmacy, Medicine, Science, Statistics, or Business; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 3+ years in pharmaceutical/healthcare forecasting, including pipeline and epidemiology-based forecasting.
- Solid domain knowledge of global pharma markets (US, JP, EU) and relevant data sources.
- Proficiency in pharma and clinical trial databases, with experience in secondary data or desk research.
- Expertise in epidemiology-based forecast modeling, long-range forecasting, patient/forecast flow, and TPP.
- Strong ability to comprehend and synthesize data into actionable insights.
- Proven experience working in matrix teams with exceptional business acumen and stakeholder management.
