Senior Analyst – Pharmaceutical Forecasting
ROLE OVERVIEW
AstraZeneca's Global Commercial organisation in Bangalore is seeking a Senior Analyst – Forecasting to convert uncertainty into evidence-based clarity for strategic brands and early-stage assets. Based at Manyata Tech Park in a hybrid setup (three days on-site, 2 PM–11 PM IST to overlap global time zones), this role builds the patient, volume and revenue forecasts that guide investment decisions, launch readiness and market access strategy across priority markets. The position is genuinely influential: the models you author flow directly into commercial plans, Finance sales bridges and pricing discussions that determine how quickly medicines reach patients. For an experienced pharma forecasting professional, this is a rare chance to shape global and US brand portfolios — including rare disease and oncology business units — while deepening statistical, AI/ML and automation capability inside one of the world's most respected biopharmaceutical companies.
ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- •Build and sustain robust patient-based, volume and revenue forecasts for strategic brands and priority markets, clearly documenting assumptions and confidence levels.
- •Confidently defend forecast methodologies, model architecture, assumptions and outputs to cross-functional collaborators across Commercial, Finance and Market Access.
- •Select the right data sources and apply industry-leading modelling techniques, running sensitivity analyses and Monte Carlo simulations to quantify risks and upside.
- •Develop short- and long-term new product introduction (NPI) forecasts that feed strategic, operational and launch readiness planning.
- •Integrate primary and secondary research insights — epidemiology, patient flow and treatment dynamics — into forecast assumptions and scenario ranges.
- •Lead forecasting and business planning workstreams, including sales bridges and ad-hoc analytics, connecting commercial analytics to financial outcomes.
- •Support US monthly S&OP cycles by submitting volumes and building weekly, monthly and annual models and unit conversions.
- •Advance forecasting capability through predictive methods, automation, simulations and tools such as Power BI and applied AI/ML.

- Solid understanding of multiple disease areas, ideally rare disease or oncology, including diagnosis and treatment pathways and treatment dynamics.
- Demonstrated experience integrating market research and secondary data analysis into forecast assumptions.
- Strong analytical expertise with excellent Excel and financial modelling skills.
