Therapy Business Manager – Gastroenterology (GI Prima)
ROLE OVERVIEW
Reporting into the Area Business Manager, the Therapy Business Manager – GI Prima owns the Pune territory for Abbott's gastroenterology brand family within the Established Pharmaceutical Division (EPD) — a business that contributes steady, high-volume revenue to Abbott India's domestic formulations franchise. The role sits at the intersection of clinical science and commercial execution: you translate GI therapy strategy into doctor-level adoption, prescription share and sustainable brand equity. Because Abbott's EPD portfolio is promoted across general practitioners, gastroenterologists and consulting physicians, success here builds a highly transferable skill set in specialty pharma selling. It is an excellent launchpad for candidates who want a measurable, incentive-linked career with a global MNC that invests heavily in structured field training, digital detailing tools and internal promotion from within.
ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- •Deliver assigned territory sales targets for the GI Prima gastroenterology portfolio across Pune through disciplined daily field working and territory planning.
- •Achieve mandated Call Average, Coverage and Frequency norms for general practitioners, gastroenterologists and consulting physicians.
- •Generate maximum prescriptions and grow market share by detailing Abbott's GI brands as per approved divisional strategy and promotional inputs.
- •Build durable relationships with doctors, chemists, stockists and hospital pharmacy stakeholders to secure availability and recommendation.
- •Log field activity daily on the assigned online SFA system with accurate, audit-ready call reporting.
- •Execute CMEs, round tables, doctor meets and patient-awareness initiatives within approved budgets and UCPMP guidelines.
- •Monitor competitor activity, prescription trends and stock movement, feeding insights back into divisional strategy building.
- •Act as a credible brand ambassador, upholding compliance, ethics and Abbott's reputational standards in every interaction.
