ROLE OVERVIEW

As an Area Medical Advisor - Vaccines in Mumbai, you will serve as the scientific face of Pfizer's vaccine portfolio, building credible, peer-level relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, paediatricians, physicians, and immunisation experts. This field-based medical role is critical for generating clinical insights, shaping medical education, and supporting pre-launch and launch activities for vaccines that protect across age groups. ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- •Establish and maintain scientific relationships with KOLs, immunisation experts, and healthcare professionals across Mumbai and assigned territory.
- •Deliver balanced, evidence-based medical education on Pfizer vaccine products, including mechanisms, schedules, safety, and clinical data.
- •Collect and document insights on unmet needs, treatment patterns, competitor activity, and research gaps; share with medical, marketing, and clinical teams.
- •Support medical activities aligned with brand plans, including advisory boards, round tables, CMEs, and pre-launch/launch customer meetings.
- •Provide medical expertise for sales force training, ensuring field teams communicate approved scientific information compliantly.
- •Respond to unsolicited scientific queries from healthcare professionals and escalate complex medical information requests.
- •Collaborate with clinical research and medical information teams to support investigator-initiated studies and real-world evidence.
- •Stay current with vaccine research, guidelines, and regulatory updates; disseminate key findings internally and externally.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBBS, MD (Pharmacology, Community Medicine, Preventive/Social Medicine), PhD in allied sciences, MPH, or equivalent medical/health sciences graduate/postgraduate degree.
- 0-2 years of experience in Medical Affairs, clinical practice, or pharmaceutical medicine; freshers with strong academic record may apply.
- Basic understanding of drug discovery, development, commercialisation, promotion, and applicable pharmaceutical regulations.
- Knowledge of clinical pharmacology, medical statistics, vaccine science, and relevant therapeutic areas.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including medical writing and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical reasoning, medical judgment, and decision-making ability.
- Proven interpersonal skills for internal/external networking and influencing diverse audiences.
