Therapy Business Manager – Neurolife (Neurology Sales)
By Admin · Pharma Sales, Marketing & Commercial
ROLE OVERVIEW
Abbott's Established Pharmaceuticals Division (EPD) is one of the company's most consistent growth engines in India, and the Neurolife therapy portfolio sits at the centre of its neurology and central nervous system franchise. As Therapy Business Manager for the Malda territory in West Bengal, you become the commercial face of this portfolio — the professional who converts clinical evidence into prescription behaviour across neurologists, physicians, psychiatrists and paediatricians. The role matters because EPD growth increasingly depends on coverage depth in tier-2 and tier-3 markets, where Abbott competes on relationship quality and scientific credibility rather than price alone. For an ambitious BSc or B.Pharm graduate, this position offers rare early ownership: a defined geography, measurable call-average and frequency norms, direct KOL access, and a visible ladder into area and regional sales leadership within a global life-sciences organisation.
ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- •Achieve assigned monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets for the Neurolife portfolio across the Malda territory and surrounding coverage blocks.
- •Execute structured daily field work covering the prescribed call average, doctor coverage and frequency norms without day-to-day supervision.
- •Detail products scientifically to neurologists, physicians, psychiatrists and paediatricians, and convert detailing into sustained prescription generation.
- •Build and maintain strong relationships with doctors, chemists, stockists and distributors to secure availability and secondary sales.
- •Report daily field activity, call details and competitor intelligence through Abbott's online Sales Force Automation (SFA) system.
- •Organise doctor engagement activities such as CMEs, round-table meets and clinic-level scientific discussions as per division strategy.
- •Monitor stock movement, expiry risk and competitor schemes, and coordinate order fulfilment with channel partners.
- •Act as a credible brand ambassador for Abbott EPD, protecting the division's reputation in all stakeholder interactions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- BSc or B.Pharm degree is mandatory; M.Pharm, MSc or an MBA in Marketing is an added advantage.

- Candidates from MNC or top-tier Indian pharma companies will carry an added advantage.
- Fluent, confident communication in English plus working proficiency in Bengali and Hindi for local stakeholder interactions.
- Willingness to travel 100% of the time within the assigned territory, with a valid two-wheeler or four-wheeler driving licence.
- Physical stamina for continuous standing and field movement exceeding two consecutive hours in an eight-hour working day.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- •Existing prescriber network across Malda and North Bengal
- •Experience organising CMEs and round-table scientific meetings
