ROLE OVERVIEW
Pfizer is hiring a Sr. Team Leader - Calibration at its Vizag site to lead calibration, qualification and maintenance compliance for engineering instruments and systems. The role suits an engineering professional with at least 10 years in calibration and instrumentation within regulated manufacturing.
ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- •Lead calibration, qualification, maintenance and compliance work for engineering instruments and systems, focusing on reliability, regulatory compliance and continuity of operations.
- •Provide technical direction on calibration strategy, instrumentation lifecycle, regulatory expectations, investigations, deviations and audit preparation.
- •Plan and carry out calibration, qualification and periodic requalification of instruments and equipment.
- •Review and approve qualification documents such as URS, FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, PQ, PRQ and PV protocols, plus engineering drawings and layouts.
- •Keep instrument master data and calibration records accurate in EAMS and uphold data integrity.
- •Ensure work follows cGMP, GDP, 21 CFR Part 11, site procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
- •Lead change controls, investigations, CAPA implementation and closure of audit observations; support internal, customer and regulatory audits.
- •Coordinate calibration work with vendors and cross-functional teams, monitor equipment performance and breakdown trends, and lead reliability and troubleshooting improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or Diploma in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience in calibration, instrumentation and engineering maintenance in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- •Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, for problem solving and productivity.
- •Curiosity about responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
