ROLE OVERVIEW
Roche is seeking a Market Access Specialist to join its Access & Policy team in New Delhi, with coverage across Delhi and Haryana. This senior role is central to Roche's mission of expanding equitable healthcare access in India across oncology, ophthalmology, rare diseases and neurology. The position shapes evidence-based, innovative programs that strengthen health systems, support state-level partnerships, and improve prevention, early detection, screening and quality of care for underserved populations. Working closely with State Access Partners, government bodies, public health organizations and internal cross-functional teams, the incumbent translates strategy into scalable, measurable impact. ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- •Coach and support State Access Partners in ideating and executing access strategies aligned with Roche's business and public-health priorities.
- •Lead health-system engagements focused on prevention, early detection, screening, quality of life and access-to-care programs.
- •Represent Roche before state governments, national and global public health organizations, and key external stakeholders.
- •Design innovative health-system transformation programs and oversee implementation, follow-up, evaluation, quality strengthening and reporting.
- •Serve as subject-matter expert on monitoring and evaluation methods, tools, training materials, reports and summary forms.
- •Develop high-quality proposals and reports for state governments and public health bodies to secure support and funding.
- •Collaborate with affiliate teams to promote progressive health-system strategy and ensure consistent execution.
- •Build and sustain public-private partnerships in low-resource settings to achieve cancer control, ophthalmology, rare disease and neurology priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Postgraduate degree in medicine, public health, health administration, business or equivalent; MD, MBA, MHA or MPH strongly preferred.
- Minimum 8-10 years of professional experience, including 5+ years in healthcare access, strategy or development-sector roles.
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, complex, multi-thematic healthcare programs.
- Proven success in program conceptualization, design, proposal development, fundraising, delivery and monitoring/evaluation.
- Deep understanding of the Indian healthcare system and health-system capacity development, including task shifting.
- Experience co-creating and maintaining public-private partnerships and working in low-resource settings.
- English fluency, written and verbal; willingness to travel extensively and spend significant time in the field.
