ROLE OVERVIEW
Nursing In-Charge for the Emergency Department responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing nursing staff, and ensuring compliance with clinical protocols.
ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- •Supervise and coordinate the nursing staff in the Emergency Department, ensuring optimal care delivery.
- •Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures in accordance with hospital standards.
- •Conduct staff training and performance evaluations to enhance team skills and capabilities.
- •Monitor patient flow and resource allocation, ensuring timely and efficient care.
- •Manage emergency situations effectively, making critical decisions to ensure patient safety.
- •Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to patient safety programs.
Reporting Hierarchy: Reports to Nursing Superintendent / Head of Emergency Services
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Valid nursing license and registration with the appropriate regulatory body.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role in an emergency setting.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and proficiency in emergency care protocols.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- •Master’s Degree in Nursing or relevant emergency care certification.
- •Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and healthcare management software.
