ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities
Support the Investigator Payments Group (IPG) with the setup, tracking, processing, and maintenance of investigator site payments across clinical trials.
Act as an operational point of contact for customer escalations and issue resolution regarding site disbursements in coordination with team leadership.
Execute accurate, timely, and compliant investigator payments in strict accordance with investigator site contracts, study protocols, and milestone schedules.
Communicate effectively with clinical investigative site personnel, Sponsor teams, and ICON Clinical Project Managers to address payment inquiries and manage expectations.
Liaise seamlessly with cross-functional departments including Clinical Operations, Project Time & Spend (PTS), IT, Finance, Legal, and Contracts to resolve complex payment queries promptly.
Continuously contribute to process optimization, quality enhancements, and best practices across IPG operational systems and workflows.
Technical & Financial Standards
Strong foundational knowledge of clinical trial payment workflows, investigator contract terms, pass-through costs, and milestone disbursements.
Proficiency in business and financial applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Access.
Strong numerical aptitude, transaction reconciliation skills, and attention to detail in financial administration.
Leadership & Relationship Management
Build and maintain productive working relationships with clinical trial teams, site coordinators, investigators, and ancillary business units.
Manage high transaction volumes efficiently while meeting strict financial closing deadlines and delivery targets.
