ROLE OVERVIEW
Lead scientific writing operations for assigned therapeutic areas, partnering strategically with scientific communication stakeholders while leading and developing expert and senior writers. Drive high-quality scientific, clinical, medical, publication and education deliverables with strong compliance, process excellence and technology adoption.
ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- •Lead a team of scientific writers or similar content-creation professionals
- •Coach and develop expert and senior writers on content, methods and processes
- •Act as a strategic thought partner to assigned therapeutic areas and global business units
- •Provide input into publication and communication plans and ensure delivery against agreed timelines and quality standards
- •Support scientific documents and clinical/medical reports with appropriate resourcing, quality, efficiency and technical standards
- •Ensure adherence to compliance procedures, internal controls and applicable regulatory standards
- •Develop and leverage tools, technology and improved processes to enhance quality and productivity
- •Collaborate with regional scientific communication teams and medical-scientific stakeholders to identify publication and communication needs
Reporting Hierarchy: Reports to the relevant Scientific Communication/Business Operations leadership for the assigned therapeutic area or global business unit; Leads a team of expert and senior scientific writers

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 9+ years of experience in content creation within the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry or academia
- More than 6 years of leadership experience
- Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy or a similar discipline, or a medical degree
- Strong scientific communications/writing and medical communications/writing capability
- Ability to influence and negotiate
- Excellent spoken and written English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
