ROLE OVERVIEW
AstraZeneca is hiring a Statistical Science Associate Director in Bangalore to lead statistical work for pharmaceutical development projects and complex clinical studies. The role involves statistical analysis, modelling, study design, project oversight and collaboration with internal teams or CRO partners.
ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- •Lead statistical work for projects or clinical indications
- •oversee delivery across multiple studies or indications
- •analyse, interpret, summarise and present clinical study results
- •perform statistical modelling for interim and final event-driven analyses
- •direct statistical staff and CRO partners
- •develop study design options and provide decision support
- •investigate and apply novel statistical approaches including modelling and simulation
- •mentor and support statistics staff training
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MSc or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics or recognised equivalent
- 5+ years of pharmaceutical development, data analysis and interpretation and program design experience
- strong R and/or SAS programming knowledge
- experience conducting simulations
- knowledge of technical and regulatory requirements
- strong communication and relationship-building abilities
- strong collaboration skills
- ability to apply statistical expertise to complex problems with emphasis on problem solving and quality
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- •Experience designing and executing a Phase III Oncology study
