ROLE OVERVIEW
Pfizer is hiring a Manager - Technical Services (Formulation Development) in Goa. The role leads formulation and process development at the plant and at third-party sites across India, covering new product introduction, technology transfer, troubleshooting and vendor development.
ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- •Lead formulation and process development at the plant and at third-party sites in India.
- •Drive the introduction of new products, reformulation of existing products and product redesign to meet customer and consumer needs.
- •Guide cross-functional teams to recommend formulations, processes, ingredients, packaging and equipment, and oversee project timelines and milestones.
- •Direct technology transfer and scale-up activities for products ready for commercialization at third-party sites and in-house.
- •Lead troubleshooting activities for the organization and third-party sites, and manage project costs within budget.
- •Evaluate and approve new vendors through validation studies, support vendor development and participate in third-party audits.
- •Set and implement departmental policies, objectives and initiatives, evaluate product life cycles and trend analysis, approve training curriculum and job code allocation for new joiners, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, GMP, GLP and EHS standards.
- •Improve safe work conditions and practices, participate in safety meetings and EHS programs, ensure commissioning and calibration of formulation development equipment, and support master manufacturing documents and packing specifications for CMO sites.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- B.Pharm, M.Pharm or PhD.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong understanding of formulation principles and excipient functionality.
- Knowledge of stability studies and ICH guidelines.
- Familiarity with GMP, GLP and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to manage time and handle multiple projects.
- Good functional and technical skills.
- Business acumen and process management capabilities.
