Expert Scientific Writer
ROLE OVERVIEW
Sanofi Business Operations in Hyderabad is seeking an Expert Scientific Writer to drive high-impact medical and publication content for Specialty Care, Vaccines, General Medicines and R&D portfolios. This role is central to Sanofi's global scientific communication strategy, ensuring accurate, compliant and compelling publication materials that inform healthcare professionals and support product lifecycle decisions. The writer will manage end-to-end development of abstracts, posters, manuscripts, slide decks and medical education assets in PromoMats/iEnvision, while coaching junior writers and partnering with medical, HEVA and commercial teams. For an experienced medical writing professional, this is a rare opportunity to shape therapeutic-area narratives, maintain Good Publication Practice standards and influence how Sanofi's clinical evidence reaches global stakeholders.
ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- •Create complex, specialized publication and medical education content, including abstracts, posters, manuscripts, slide decks and conference materials, with minimal supervision.
- •Manage end-to-end content development, documentation and approval workflows in PromoMats/iEnvision, ensuring compliance with internal and external publication standards.
- •Develop and maintain therapeutic-area, process and compliance expertise across assigned Sanofi Global Business Units and product portfolios.
- •Coach and review content created by senior and junior scientific writers, sharing best practices and elevating team writing quality.
- •Collaborate with medical, scientific and commercial stakeholders to conduct publication-need analysis and implement annual publication plans.
- •Liaise with healthcare professionals, institutions and external vendors to deliver customized deliverables within agreed timelines and quality metrics.
- •Support strategic publication activities, design action plans from end-user feedback and continuously improve course content and delivery.
- •Represent scientific writing on cross-functional teams, ensuring publication materials align with regulatory, legal and medical review requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or similar discipline; medical degree (MBBS/MD) is an advantage.
- 7+ years of experience in content creation for the pharmaceutical, healthcare industry, or academia.
- More than 4 years of experience leading a therapeutic area in medical writing or scientific communications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Good Publication Practices, publication submission processes and project management.
- Excellent spoken and written English, with ability to engage healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams in a matrixed global environment.
- Experience managing vendors, review cycles and compliance documentation for medical education or publication deliverables.
