ROLE OVERVIEW

Lead global procurement strategy for the Medical Communications category, driving strategic sourcing, supplier governance, innovation, stakeholder alignment, and measurable value across medical, commercial, marketing, and enterprise objectives.

ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • •Lead end-to-end Medical Communications category strategy and business planning
  • •Build strategic relationships with medical, commercial, marketing operations, Finance, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • •Develop and execute sourcing strategies using market and supplier intelligence
  • •Manage strategic supplier relationships, governance, performance, and value realization
  • •Provide procurement expertise to support enterprise transformation and communications initiatives
  • •Guide investment and budget decisions with Finance and business partners
  • •Drive supplier-enabled innovation, emerging technologies, and AI-enabled communications solutions
  • •Represent the category in executive forums and lead global matrixed teams and change initiatives
Reporting Hierarchy: Reports to a senior Global Procurement leader; collaborates with global medical, commercial, marketing, Finance, and cross-functional stakeholders and leads matrixed category initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree plus 8 years of business partnering, category management, or related experience, or Bachelor's degree plus 13 years of relevant experience
  • Proven end-to-end Medical Communications or Marketing Procurement category leadership
  • Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or another highly regulated industry
  • Experience leading teams, projects, programs, or resource allocation
  • Strong strategic sourcing, supplier management, negotiation, communication, and executive stakeholder management skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • •MBA or equivalent advanced degree
  • •Experience with medical or marketing communications and agency management
  • •Experience with communications agency models and commercialization contracting frameworks
  • •Expertise in advanced Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Relationship Management methodologies
