ROLE OVERVIEW
Manager-level Scientific Communications role within Amgen's Global Medical Organization, responsible for developing scientific and medical content, publications, medical information materials, and communication strategies across global audiences and therapeutic areas.
ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- •Develop and deliver accurate scientific and medical content for global audiences
- •Draft and deliver manuscripts, abstracts, posters, oral presentations, and enhanced publication content
- •Address complex Medical Information inquiries and escalations
- •Create content supporting payer interactions and compendia submissions
- •Manage content workflows and approvals through appropriate systems
- •Partner with Scientific Communications Operations on process standardization, innovation, digital engagement, and KPI tracking
- •Execute deliverables within comprehensive scientific communication plans
- •Ensure compliance with Amgen SOPs, publication guidelines, and regulatory requirements
Reporting Hierarchy: Reports to a Senior Manager, Scientific Communications (Group Lead) in India; Works cross-functionally with Global/US/Regional Medical Planning and Scientific Communications Operations teams

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced scientific degree with relevant experience: doctorate with 4+ years of Global Publication experience
- or master's degree/MBBS with 8+ years of Global Publication, Medical Communications/Information, Medical Value and Access, or Medical Strategy experience
- or bachelor's degree with 10 years of relevant experience
- or associate's degree with 15 years of relevant experience
- Prior Medical Affairs or Clinical Development experience in biopharmaceutical industry or relevant clinical/research therapeutic-area experience
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical commercialization, regulatory, and legal guidelines
- Knowledge of ICMJE and current Good Publication Practice guidelines
- Strong scientific communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- •Knowledge of emerging scientific communications technologies such as AI tools, omnichannel and digital engagement platforms
- •Strong Microsoft Office and database skills
- •Experience with Amgen therapeutic areas and disease landscapes
- •Experience with digital and multi-channel scientific engagement
