ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities
Production ML Component Ownership: Independently design, implement, deploy, and support defined production ML/AI components, including model inference services, data and knowledge pipelines, retrieval modules, evaluation suites, and agent tools.
GenAI, RAG & Agentic Systems: Develop robust GenAI, NLP, RAG, and bounded agent workflows featuring structured outputs, embeddings, hybrid search, reranking, citations, access-aware retrieval, tool schemas, and human review mechanisms.
Data Engineering & Pipelines: Build batch and event-driven data, feature, embedding, and evaluation pipelines with strict schema validation, data contracts, lineage tracking, provenance, and access controls.
Model Evaluation & MLOps/LLMOps: Establish representative evaluation metrics for model accuracy, retrieval grounding, safety, latency, cost, and drift. Manage CI/CD deployment gates, containerization, versioning, monitoring, rollback strategies, and operational runbooks.
Security & GxP Compliance: Apply Responsible AI principles, prompt-injection defense, least-privilege security, privacy standards, and GxP validation controls while mentoring associate engineers.
Technical & Domain Standards
Strong software engineering principles in production Python and SQL with modular design, unit testing, and API integration.
Comprehensive understanding of classical machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and foundation model lifecycles.
