ROLE OVERVIEW
AstraZeneca is hiring a Scientific Communications & Medical Information Analyst in Bengaluru to produce accurate, compliant medical information for products marketed in the US. The role involves writing and maintaining scientific content, handling Medical Information Requests, and working in medical information and content management systems.
ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- •Develop, review, update and maintain medical content across formats, including US standard responses and localised scientific communication materials
- •Deliver accurate, scientifically balanced and timely answers to Medical Information Requests for US products
- •Design literature searches and custom responses for advanced inquiries from local markets
- •Use medical information and content management systems (GMIP Inquiry, Vault MedComms, PromoMats, AIMI) for creation, review, tracking and reporting
- •Perform comprehensive literature searches, evaluate evidence quality and ensure correct citation and copyright usage
- •Conduct medical accuracy checks and quality assurance, editorial and promotional reviews
- •Build and sustain knowledge of assigned disease areas, products and diagnostics to create customer-centric content
- •Partner with scientific, medical, regulatory and commercial colleagues to keep content aligned and consistent
- •Plan, prioritise and manage workstreams, anticipate risks and support adoption of digital solutions and new technologies
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced scientific degree or equivalent experience (PharmD preferred; MD, PhD or equivalent)
- Demonstrated ability in medical information, scientific communications or related roles within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or healthcare industry
- Clinical and healthcare systems expertise
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distil complex scientific information into clear messages for diverse audiences
- Strategic problem solver with strong business acumen, project management and organisational skills
- Confirmed ability to work across teams or functions and proficiency in using technology and platforms
- Strong collaboration skills, sensitivity to cultural differences and openness to change
- Ability to apply local regulatory, legal and compliance requirements to Medical Affairs activities and drug information delivery
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- •Experience developing digital content and/or digital content strategy
- •Experience in mentoring and coaching team members (for senior roles)
- •Proficiency with medical information and content management systems (GMIP Inquiry, Vault MedComms, PromoMats, AIMI)
- •Familiarity with US medical information processes
