ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities
Support the modernization, intelligence-driven readiness, and continuous improvement of Amgen's Disaster Recovery (DR) program while developing foundational knowledge of Business Continuity (BC) processes.
Serve as the primary analyst for IT disaster recovery planning, technology readiness, recovery testing, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform dependency mapping across critical IT infrastructure, systems, third-party technology suppliers, and operational resources that impact recovery objectives.
Leverage Agentic AI and automation frameworks to identify Key Computerized Systems (KCSs), Critical Systems, and automate recovery plan updates, notifications, and gap analyses.
Support contingency and resilience planning for AI-enabled and Agentic AI workflows, defining robust fallback, override, escalation, and recovery procedures.
Coordinate cross-functional Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity simulation exercises, ensuring technology recovery capabilities align with business priorities.
Track and document exercise outcomes including Achieved Recovery Time (ART), Achieved Recovery Point (ARP), action items, and post-incident lessons learned.
Partner with the Business Continuity team to triage, analyze, and support broader business continuity activities.
Technical & Domain Standards
Strong understanding of IT Disaster Recovery (DR), Business Continuity Management (BCM), and enterprise operational resilience frameworks.
Practical understanding of technical recovery metrics (RTO, RPO, ART, ARP), failover architectures, and high-availability systems.
Hands-on familiarity with Agentic AI principles, process automation tools, workflow orchestration, and dependency modeling.
Working knowledge of IT service continuity tools, data analysis, and technical governance documentation.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate effectively across IT engineering, cyber resilience, risk management, and global business operations teams.
Present technical DR insights, risk assessments, and readiness metrics clearly to both technical specialists and executive stakeholders.
Promote an automation-driven culture to optimize recovery workflows and enhance enterprise system resilience.
