ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities
Manage staff, including interviewing, selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching, mentoring, counseling, and separations.
Approve courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations.
Review and approve time records, expense reports, requests for leave, and overtime.
Perform and/or lead the design, building, and testing of project databases and edit checks.
Perform and/or lead the defining and importing of data into the system.
Perform and/or lead the defining, creating, and testing of listings for data review and executing programming activities aligned with project requirements.
Contribute to the creation and validation of reporting tools, standard applications, and enhanced processes.
Work closely with IT in troubleshooting, reporting, and resolving system issues.
Act as a representative of the Clinical Data Management Programming department to other divisions.
Assist in bidding and business development activities as required.
Participate in the development and implementation of processes, procedures, and training for the group.
Technical & Domain Standards
Maintain advanced knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS) and data structures.
Execute advanced clinical programming using tools such as SAS, SQL, Crystal Reports, and JReview.
Ensure strict adherence to Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), departmental SOPs, and regulatory standards.
Deliver high-quality programming outputs, edit checks, and data validation listings.
Leadership & Operational Impact
Oversee day-to-day operations for the team, balancing workload and resources across direct reports.
Track and manage project timelines, resource needs, and project budgets, including modifications for scope updates.
Serve as the primary technical and operational contact for client interactions.
Drive process development and operational efficiencies across departmental workflows.
Working Conditions & Corporate Culture
Standard full-time schedule (Monday to Friday) in an office environment.
Occasional travel to site locations both domestically and internationally.
