ROLE OVERVIEW
Clinical Data Specialist supporting the Clinical Data Management team with data operations, data review, database development/testing, coding, and quality-focused clinical data activities. The role contributes to efficient and accurate clinical data management products for customers.
ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- •Serve as a Data Operations Coordinator for one protocol with fewer than 5 operations staff or support 15+ easy-to-moderately complex central laboratory studies
- •Serve as a backup to a Data Operations Coordinator or Data Team Lead
- •Conduct clinical data review and write or resolve data clarifications
- •Lead database audit activities when assigned
- •Develop and test databases and edit specifications
- •Perform programming testing and clinical data coding
- •Follow core operating procedures and working instructions while maintaining effective communication with CDM teams, managers, and clients
Reporting Hierarchy: Reports to or works under the guidance of a Data Operations Coordinator, Data Team Lead, or Functional Manager; Team leadership responsibilities may be assigned under supervision

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in clinical, biological, mathematical sciences, or a related field
- Medical terminology exposure
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong computer skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and resolve problems
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
