ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES

Role & Organizational Overview

The Clinical Data Specialist / Associate Clinical Data Coordinator at IQVIA (based in Bangalore, with additional locations including Thane, Pune, Kolkata, Kochi, and Hyderabad) provides core and comprehensive clinical data management expertise to the Clinical Data Management (CDM) team. This role ensures the delivery of efficient, high-quality data management products that meet sponsor and client requirements across trial lifecycles.

Core Responsibilities

Data Operations Coordination: Serve as Data Operations Coordinator (DOC) for protocols, laboratory studies, or act as task lead (e.g., medical coder, database designer, tester) with supervisor guidance.
Data Review & Cleaning: Conduct clinical data review, issue and resolve data clarifications/queries, and perform database audit functions to maintain clean databases.
Database Testing & Specifications: Participate in the development and testing of clinical trial databases, edit specifications, and validate database programming.
Medical Coding: Perform clinical data coding using standardized dictionaries (e.g., MedDRA, WHODrug) and adhere strictly to core operating procedures (SOPs).
Team Collaboration: Function as back-up DOC/Data Team Lead (DTL), ensuring effective communication across multi-disciplinary trial operations teams.

Technical & Domain Standards

Mastery of end-to-end CDM study phases: Study Startup, Conduct, and Closeout.
Hands-on operational proficiency in electronic data capture platforms including Medidata RAVE and Veeva Vault CDMS.
Adherence to GCP guidelines, clinical data standards, and company Working Instructions.

Leadership & Business Impact

Ensures data integrity and protocol compliance for assigned clinical trials, enabling timely database lock and accurate statistical analysis for global pharmaceutical sponsors.
