Engagement Analyst – External Expert Engagement Services
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Engagement Analyst role within AstraZeneca's External Expert Engagement Services (E3S) sits at the intersection of Medical Affairs, Commercial and Compliance operations. Based at Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore, this individual-contributor position governs the end-to-end lifecycle of engagements with healthcare providers and patients — advisory boards, consulting assignments and speaking programmes that shape how AstraZeneca's medicines are understood, prescribed and adopted. Because every such engagement carries transparency and anti-bribery obligations, the analyst protects AstraZeneca's licence to operate while accelerating scientific exchange. For professionals with 1–5 years of experience in regulated contracting or compliance workflows, the role offers global exposure, direct partnership with Medical Affairs, Nominated Signatories and Legal, and a clear pathway into compliance, medical affairs operations or risk management careers.
ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- •Intake, triage and queue management of HCP and patient engagement requests; verify completeness, route to the correct reviewer and maintain case-aging targets.
- •Guide stakeholders through approval workflows, applying fair market value (FMV) benchmarks, rate caps and utilisation rules consistently across markets.
- •Ensure executed letters of agreement (LOAs) and contracts are secured before any advisory board, consulting or speaking programme begins.
- •Perform first-line due diligence including debarment and exclusion screening; escalate complex or high-risk issues to Compliance or Legal.
- •Collect, review and archive documentation — needs assessments, CVs, W-9/banking details and payment forms — per SOPs and retention policies.
- •Capture transparency data elements for US Sunshine/Open Payments, EFPIA and country-specific disclosure requirements with first-time-right accuracy.
- •Partner with the Payments team to resolve exceptions and trigger timely, compliant payments to external experts and patients.
- •Maintain audit readiness, document decision rationale, and contribute to SOP updates, training material and continuous improvement of E3S services.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline; life-sciences, pharmacy, legal or compliance studies preferred.
- Minimum 1–5 years of relevant experience in regulated contracting, HCP engagement, compliance operations or shared services.
- Hands-on proficiency with Salesforce CRM, Microsoft 365, SharePoint/OneDrive and Adobe.
- Demonstrated SLA-driven operational excellence, with meticulous attention to detail and follow-through.
- Working knowledge of interpreting SOPs and applying working instructions consistently in a regulated environment.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication for cross-functional, global stakeholder management.
- High ethical standards and sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.
