ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities
Support financial planning, budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial modeling for Amgen's Operations Finance division.
Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports, delivering variance analysis, spend trend assessments, and performance commentary.
Partner with Operations and cross-functional business stakeholders to evaluate operational cost drivers, financial risks, and efficiency opportunities.
Manage operational expense tracking, cost center reporting, headcount analytics, and capital expenditure planning activities.
Perform actual vs. budget/forecast variance analysis, translating operational financial data into actionable management insights.
Assist in drafting executive presentations, financial review summaries, and strategic business reporting packages.
Support month-end and quarter-end close workflows, including journal entry reviews, accrual calculations, account reconciliations, and financial validation.
Maintain rigorous financial discipline and compliance in alignment with corporate accounting standards, internal controls, and finance governance policies.
Technical & Financial Standards
Strong foundational knowledge of corporate finance principles, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budgeting, and cost accounting.
Practical understanding of variance analysis, standard costing, and financial statement reconciliation in global corporate operations.
Proficiency in advanced financial modeling, data synthesis, and reporting using Microsoft Excel and enterprise finance systems.
Leadership & Collaboration
Act as an analytical business partner to operational and manufacturing stakeholders, driving fiscal responsibility and transparency.
Collaborate closely with global corporate finance and accounting teams to streamline financial reporting cycles and reporting accuracy.
