ROLE OVERVIEW

Novartis is hiring a Director, Analytical Project Management in Hyderabad to oversee the ARD India portfolio and analytical development projects. The role covers governance, planning, resource coordination and cross-functional leadership across global and site teams.

ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • •Direct the ARD India portfolio of Analytical Project Leads across early- and late-phase analytical programs for oral, xRNA, radio-ligand therapy and parenteral modalities.
  • •Maintain project plans, tracking and delivery against global timelines and regulatory requirements, with structured risk identification, mitigation and escalation.
  • •Set up and run governance forums, portfolio boards and dashboards, and supply data-driven insights for prioritization and decisions.
  • •Act as the link among ARD scientific teams, TRD, global project leaders and other partners, aligning analytical work with program and CMC strategies.
  • •Coordinate communication across India, Switzerland and China, and work with Regulatory, Quality, Supply and external partners.
  • •Oversee demand and capacity planning, resource allocation and workforce planning with functional heads to balance portfolio needs.
  • •Improve execution through lean methods, digital tools, analytics, dashboarding, standard reporting, KPIs and automation.
  • •Lead, coach and develop Analytical Project Leads, building project management capability and supporting succession planning.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Chemistry.
  • 15–18+ years of experience in Analytical R&D / Pharmaceutical Development.
  • Proven project or portfolio management experience in drug development.
  • Strong understanding of the development lifecycle from early phase through commercialization.
  • Experience in global, matrixed organizations with cross-functional leadership.
