ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES

Role Overview

Serve as the lead data manager for one or more clinical research projects or provide support to the lead data manager.
Lead all Data Management activities for individual, limited-volume or limited-complexity studies with support from senior team members where required.
Act as an interdepartmental and client liaison for all Data Management study activities.
Support operational excellence across clinical research projects and contribute to organizational performance.

Core Clinical Data Management Responsibilities

Apply relevant components of the project protocol to daily Data Management tasks and direct other study team members on how to apply protocol requirements to their activities.
Communicate with the Project Lead and/or client regarding Data Management activities and provide management with appropriate updates on study progress.
Develop and maintain Data Management project documentation files.
Perform independent reviews of Data Management deliverables in accordance with documented Clinical Data Management (CDM) guidelines.
Independently perform assigned Data Management activities efficiently while maintaining quality standards.

Training & Team Leadership

Develop and deliver study-specific training for Data Management project staff.
Mentor junior-level staff on tasks associated with clinical studies.
Train and direct study teams as required.
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to changing project requirements.

Project Reporting & Metrics

Produce project-specific status reports for management, Project Leads, and/or clients on a regular basis.
Monitor study metrics and communicate relevant status information to stakeholders.
Set and meet project timelines and recognize when changes are required in response to project demands.

Business Development & Commercial Support

Participate in business-development activities when required.
Assist with bid preparation and represent Data Management during bid-defense meetings where applicable.
Assist with project forecasting of hours and identification of resource requirements.
Identify potential out-of-scope activities and communicate them to the Project Lead and management.
Support the Contract Modification process associated with out-of-scope activities.

Administrative & Financial Responsibilities

Assist with administrative and financial management of allocated projects.
Support project forecasting and resource planning.
Maintain awareness of project demands, timelines, metrics, and resource requirements while delivering Data Management activities.

Quality, Compliance & Data Confidentiality

Apply knowledge and skills while adhering to regulatory guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and client expectations.
Maintain a high degree of confidentiality when handling clinical data and client proprietary information.
Perform independent deliverable reviews according to documented CDM guidelines.
Maintain attention to detail and consistently deliver high-quality Data Management work.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.
Previous experience providing the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the role, comparable to 2+ years.
In certain cases, an equivalent combination of appropriate education, training, and directly related experience may satisfy the requirements.
