ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Role Overview & Strategic Sourcing Mandate
Serve as the Senior Category Manager overseeing commercial and clinical distribution sourcing strategies across global biopharmaceutical operations.
Report to the Amgen India Direct Lead to drive end-to-end category management, strategic sourcing execution, supplier governance, and full-lifecycle contract management.
Formulate Go-To-Market procurement plans aligned with enterprise commercial goals, conducting market intelligence assessments and leading strategic supplier engagements.
Contracting, Cost Optimization & Data Analytics
Lead complex commercial negotiations, supplier evaluations, and end-to-end contract execution for clinical trial and commercial distribution networks.
Draft, redline, and negotiate high volumes of distribution and logistics master service agreements (MSAs) using enterprise legal templates.
Leverage advanced data analytics and reporting tools to evaluate procurement datasets, assess logistics supplier performance, and identify significant cost-saving opportunities.
Partner with Legal, Compliance, Data Privacy, and Cybersecurity teams to ensure rigorous risk mitigation and regulatory adherence across all distribution activities.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Supplier Management
Act as an enterprise advisor and thought leader, translating market trends and supplier capabilities into actionable procurement strategies for senior leadership.
Build, maintain, and govern strategic logistics and distribution supplier relationships to ensure delivery quality, supply continuity, and compliance with cold chain/GxP standards.
Mentor and guide junior sourcing team members, fostering operational excellence and continuous improvement across the procurement organization.
