ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities
Act as the assistant lead data manager across assigned clinical projects, supporting the primary Lead Data Manager through study setup, active data cleaning, and database close-out phases.
Apply project protocol requirements and clinical trial specifications to operational daily workflows with guidance.
Coordinate data cleaning workflows and delegate query management tasks across data management team members to uphold quality standards and meet milestone timelines.
Assist in developing database specifications, supporting database build activities, and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for eCRFs and edit checks.
Author, update, and maintain clinical data management study documentation and deliverables following established guidelines and SOPs.
Monitor study metrics, identify risks to project deadlines, and escalate operational bottlenecks appropriately.
Provide input into project forecasting of hours, resource allocation, and risk management on allocated projects.
Generate and deliver project-specific status reports for Project Managers, leadership, and external clients on a regular schedule.
Deliver study-specific onboarding and procedural training to junior associates on assigned clinical trials.
Technical & Domain Standards
Strong understanding of the Clinical Data Management lifecycle, Good Clinical Data Management Practice (GCDMP), and ICH-GCP guidelines.
Practical familiarity with Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems (e.g., Medidata Rave, Oracle InForm, Veeva Vault CDMS).
Knowledge of edit check testing methodologies, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) execution, and clinical discrepancy resolution workflows.
Familiarity with clinical data standards, CDISC conventions, and strict regulatory compliance requirements for clinical trials.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Support the primary Lead Data Manager in risk management planning, governance discussions, and client status meetings.
Mentor, direct, and provide day-to-day procedural guidance to junior data management staff.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional project teams including Clinical Operations, Biostatistics, and Quality Assurance to maintain deliverable integrity.
