ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES

Role Overview

The Senior Consultant, Medical Affairs – Strategy & Consulting role works with leading life sciences organizations to solve complex strategic and business challenges across Medical Affairs and related functions. The position combines structured problem solving, data-driven analysis, stakeholder management, strategic thinking and client-facing consulting to develop actionable recommendations.

Core Responsibilities

Lead workstreams across Medical Affairs strategy, organizational strategy, capability building, evidence generation, transformation and launch preparedness engagements.
Apply hypothesis-driven problem solving to structure ambiguous client business challenges and develop actionable strategic recommendations.
Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses, synthesize findings and translate insights into clear client-ready recommendations.
Develop executive-level deliverables including presentations, strategic frameworks, business cases and workshop materials.
Support client meetings, workshops and stakeholder discussions using strong communication and facilitation skills.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality consulting engagements.
Proactively manage individual project responsibilities, workload, milestones and timelines.
Adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining project objectives and delivery targets.
Support strategic initiatives within Medical Affairs and related life-sciences functions.
Understand project roles, responsibilities and the broader impact of project activities on customer contracts and statements of work.
Maintain exceptional attention to detail when supporting project management and project leadership.
Contribute to high-quality client-ready presentations, reports and strategic analyses.
Support day-to-day customer relationships and project-delivery activities.

Strategic & Analytical Expertise

Structure complex and ambiguous business questions using hypothesis-driven approaches.
Perform market assessments and secondary research.
Generate, synthesize and communicate strategic insights.
Translate analytical findings into practical recommendations for life-sciences clients.
Develop business cases, strategic frameworks and executive-level presentations.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Communicate complex topics clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Facilitate client meetings, workshops and stakeholder discussions.
Manage multiple stakeholder groups and workstreams simultaneously.
Build effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams and client organizations.
Maintain high standards for client-ready deliverables and customer interactions.

Essential Requirements

Experience in management consulting, life-sciences consulting, healthcare consulting, pharmaceutical strategy or a similarly analytical client-facing environment.
Strong problem-solving capability and ability to structure ambiguous business questions.
Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills with experience creating executive-level deliverables.
Experience managing multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups simultaneously.
Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical skills covering market assessment, secondary research, insight generation and synthesis.
Self-development mindset, collaborative approach and action-oriented work ethic.

Desired Requirements

Graduate degree in Business or Life Sciences.
5-8 years of experience in life-sciences consulting, healthcare consulting, pharmaceutical strategy or related client-facing advisory roles.
Prior Medical Affairs experience is preferred.
Experience in related areas such as Clinical, Real-World Evidence, Health Economics and Outcomes Research or Commercial Strategy is advantageous.
