Role Overview
The Senior Consultant, Medical Affairs – Strategy & Consulting works with leading life sciences organizations to solve complex strategic and business challenges across Medical Affairs and related functions. The role combines structured problem solving, data-driven analysis, stakeholder management and strategic thinking to develop actionable client recommendations. Prior Medical Affairs or commercial exposure is advantageous, while strong consulting, analytical and client-facing capabilities are central to success.
Core Responsibilities
Lead workstreams across strategy, organizational design, capability building, evidence generation, transformation and launch preparedness engagements.
Apply hypothesis-driven problem solving to address ambiguous client business challenges and develop actionable strategic recommendations.
Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses, synthesize insights and translate findings into clear client-ready recommendations.
Develop executive-level presentations, strategic frameworks, business cases and workshop materials.
Support client meetings, workshops and stakeholder discussions using strong communication and facilitation skills.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality consulting engagements.
Proactively manage individual project responsibilities, workloads, milestones and timelines.
Adapt quickly to changing priorities while ensuring project objectives and targets are achieved efficiently.
Support strategic initiatives within Medical Affairs and related life-sciences functions.
Understand project roles and responsibilities and their impact on customer contracts and statements of work.
Support project management and leadership through creation of high-quality deliverables and day-to-day customer relationship management.
Contribute to client-ready presentations, reports and strategic analyses.
Strategic & Analytical Responsibilities
Structure ambiguous business questions using hypothesis-driven approaches.
Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Conduct market assessments and secondary research.
Generate, synthesize and interpret strategic insights.
Translate complex findings into practical recommendations for clients.
Develop strategic frameworks, business cases and executive-level materials.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Participate in client meetings, workshops and stakeholder discussions.
Clearly communicate complex subjects to technical and non-technical audiences.
Manage multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups simultaneously.
Build collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail in client deliverables and project activities.
Essential Requirements
Experience in management consulting, life-sciences consulting, healthcare consulting, pharmaceutical strategy or a similar analytical client-facing environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to structure ambiguous business questions.
Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills.
Experience creating executive-level deliverables.
Experience managing multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups simultaneously.
Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical capabilities covering market assessment, secondary research, insight generation and synthesis.
Self-development mindset, collaborative approach and action-oriented work ethic.
Desired Requirements
Graduate degree in Business or Life Sciences.
5-8 years of experience in life-sciences consulting, healthcare consulting, pharmaceutical strategy or related client-facing advisory roles.
Prior Medical Affairs experience is preferred.
Experience in Clinical, Real-World Evidence, HEOR or Commercial Strategy is advantageous.
