ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Role Overview
Create specialized scientific, publication and medical education content with limited supervision.
Support the end-to-end publication and medical education content development process, including content documentation, review and approval workflows.
Work within Sanofi Business Operations (BO), an internal resource organization that centralizes processes and activities supporting Specialty Care, Vaccines, General Medicines, CMO, R&D, and Data & Digital functions.
Act as a strategic and functional partner supporting tactical deliveries to Medical, HEVA and Commercial organizations globally.
Develop and maintain therapeutic-area expertise and collaborate with peers, scientific communication teams and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality scientific communications.
Core Responsibilities
Create specialized scientific and medical communication content with limited supervision.
Develop publication and medical education materials according to agreed timelines and quality expectations.
Support end-to-end content development, documentation and approval processes.
Prepare multiple scientific deliverable formats, including slide decks, abstracts, posters and manuscripts.
Develop complex publication and medical education materials based on stakeholder and regional requirements.
Support medical communication activities and build subject-matter expertise within the assigned therapeutic area.
Assist scientific communication teams with comprehensive publication-needs analysis.
Implement relevant elements of regional publication plans and associated activities identified for the year.
Develop education and communication content according to requirements from allocated Global Business Units and products.
Design an overall plan of action based on end-user feedback.
Improve educational course content and delivery based on feedback and stakeholder requirements.
Publication Systems & Process Management
Support documentation and approval activities using PromoMats and iEnvision.
Work with publication and content-management processes previously associated with Datavision and MATRIX workflows.
Ensure deliverables progress through defined documentation, review and approval processes.
Support publication planning and implementation activities for assigned regions or therapeutic areas.
Coordinate with selected regional vendors to ensure required deliverables are completed according to defined processes.
People & Knowledge-Sharing Responsibilities
Maintain effective relationships with end stakeholders, including members of the medical and scientific community.
Interact effectively with healthcare professionals regarding publication content.
Understand stakeholder requirements and translate them into relevant education and communication materials.
Constantly support other writers by sharing knowledge and scientific expertise.
Work collaboratively with peers and teams to develop and improve best practices.
Develop productive working relationships across internal and external scientific communication stakeholders.
Performance & Quality Responsibilities
Deliver publication and medical education materials within agreed timelines.
Maintain expected quality standards across scientific content and publication deliverables.
Support strategic engagement with individuals and institutions that may serve as resources for publication-related activities.
Ensure deliverables are relevant, scientifically appropriate and customized according to stakeholder requirements.
Contribute to continuous improvement of content development processes and communication approaches.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with scientific communication teams in regions and therapeutic areas to identify publication needs.
Assist regional and global teams in developing assigned scientific communication deliverables.
Liaise with Product Managers, Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) and medical departments.
Collaborate effectively with internal peers, teams, healthcare professionals, scientific communities, vendors and other stakeholders.
Support alignment between scientific communication requirements and business, medical and publication objectives.
Technical & Domain Expertise
Demonstrate exposure to therapeutic-area or domain knowledge relevant to pharmaceutical and healthcare communications.
Understand scientific publication development and publication submission activities.
Apply content-development expertise to scientific and medical education materials.
Demonstrate awareness of publication planning and publication-needs analysis.
Apply project-management capabilities where required to manage deliverables and stakeholder expectations.
Build and maintain subject-matter expertise in the assigned therapeutic area.
Education & Experience Requirements
Requires 2+ years of experience in content creation within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, or relevant academic experience.
Requires an advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy or a similar discipline, or a medical degree.
Requires excellent English-language proficiency, both spoken and written.
Must be able to work independently while also functioning effectively within a collaborative team environment.
