ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Responsibilities

Serve as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for the Oncology therapeutic area, acting as a scientific and medical information resource for Thought Leaders (TLs), primarily physicians.
Proactively and reactively engage Thought Leaders through innovative engagement formats and tactics.
Disseminate, clarify, and educate on scientific data, study protocols, meeting abstracts, and professional literature.
Conduct proactive scientific discussions on-label and respond to unsolicited off-label scientific questions in alignment with local regulations.
Participate in company-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical research activities.
Respond to medical and scientific queries from medical societies regarding Bayer products.
Organize, support, and participate in advisory boards.
Attend medical congresses and conventions, establish relationships with Thought Leaders, develop new contacts, and gather competitive intelligence.
Plan and organize scientific training and educational sessions with Thought Leaders within the assigned therapeutic area or product.
Contribute to Thought Leader identification, profiling, segmentation, engagement strategy, and planning in alignment with the product Medical Affairs plan.
Maintain timely reports and track MSL activities against agreed objectives.
Provide additional external scientific support, training, and education where required.

Medical & Therapeutic Expertise

Qualification in medical or dental education: MD, MBBS, BDS, or MDS.
Minimum 1 year of experience in the Oncology therapeutic area, specifically solid tumors.
Basic knowledge of Oncology and relevant molecules.
Basic understanding of clinical trials, including study design and rationale.

Stakeholder & Communication Responsibilities

Build productive working relationships with internal colleagues and external Thought Leaders.
Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Communicate complex scientific information effectively through presentations and written and verbal communication.
Support scientific exchange with physicians, medical societies, and other relevant external stakeholders.

Business & Compliance Impact

Support Bayer's Medical Affairs strategy through scientifically accurate and compliant engagement with healthcare professionals.
Ensure scientific exchanges, including unsolicited off-label discussions, remain aligned with applicable local regulations.
Contribute to clinical research engagement, advisory boards, congress activities, scientific education, Thought Leader strategy, and competitive intelligence.
Maintain accurate activity tracking and reporting against agreed objectives.
