ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management: Directly manage a site/staff level team of Biostatistics personnel. Provide guidance, assign projects, manage resource allocation, and conduct performance reviews. Hold bi-monthly meetings with direct reports to cover project timelines, financial aspects, utilization rates, SOPs, and career objectives.
Senior Statistical Oversight: Function as a senior statistician on major projects. Oversee protocol development, statistical analysis plans (SAPs), integrated clinical and statistical report preparation, and Phase I-IV trial analyses.
Client & Stakeholder Interface: Represent Biostatistics in client meetings, bid defense presentations, Kick Off Meetings (KOM), and governance structures. Provide statistical consultation to cross-functional internal teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Data Management (DM), Medical Writing (MW), and other business units to optimize operational processes and resolve inter-departmental issues.
Financial & Risk Management: Monitor project budgets, Estimate at Complete (EAC), burn-rates, and recognize/pursue Out of Scope (OOS) work. Address work scheduling, peak workloads, and team utilization.
Audit & Quality Governance: Support internal and external audits/inspections. Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and ensure compliance with CDISC standards.
Technical & Domain Standards
Mastery of complex statistical methodologies applied to Phase I-IV clinical trials.
In-depth expertise in SAS programming and CDISC (SDTM/ADaM) guidelines.
Experience in preparing New Drug Application (NDA) sections and integrated summaries of safety/efficacy.
Leadership & Impact
Drive employee engagement, global consistency, and professional development through coaching and mentorship.
Proactively manage risks, communicate updates to upper management, and represent the organization in DSMBs or independent research activities when applicable.
