ROLE OVERVIEW

Manage and provide operational leadership to Clinical Operations staff across study startup, site activities, monitoring and close-out. Oversee people, quality, regulatory compliance, resourcing, metrics and project delivery while supporting customer requirements and operational planning.

ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • •Manage Clinical Operations staff including interviewing, performance management, professional development and workload allocation
  • •Review resource availability and ensure projects are appropriately staffed
  • •Provide operational oversight, prioritization, metric monitoring and contingency planning
  • •Ensure adherence to SOPs, work instructions, ICH GCP and applicable regulatory requirements
  • •Support recruiting, onboarding, retention and staff development
  • •Oversee training plans, quality control and performance remediation
  • •Organize clinical staff meetings and track resolution of action items
  • •Support project and country reviews covering budget, schedule, risk and operational performance
Reporting Hierarchy: Reports to senior Clinical Operations management; directly manages Clinical Operations staff and collaborates with project teams, business units, customers and regional stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, nursing or equivalent related experience
  • Extensive clinical research experience in a CRO, pharmaceutical or biotechnology company
  • Leadership experience or equivalent education, training and experience
  • Extensive knowledge of GCP/ICH guidelines and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, change-management, organizational and time-management skills
  • Knowledge of basic financial concepts, forecasting and project budgeting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • •Experience managing clinical portfolios and Clinical Operations
  • •Strong Regulatory and Startup process experience
  • •People management experience with approximately 15–16 direct reports
  • •Experience supporting business development
  • •Ability to work with modern technology and operational dashboards
