ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES

Role Overview

Global Project Lead within P&PS GBS – Medical Communications, Global Medical Affairs at Novo Nordisk Global Business Services in Bangalore.
The role focuses on global project management, stakeholder engagement, medical affairs support, advisory board execution, KOL activities, vendor management, budgets, timelines, risk mitigation, and process improvement.
The position works with global Medical Affairs stakeholders and supports external medical events and scientific/medical communications.

Core Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end delivery of advisory board meetings, ensuring strategic impact and high-quality execution.
Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success metrics.
Develop comprehensive project timelines and monitor progress through completion.
Manage end-to-end Key Opinion Leader (KOL) activities, including contracting, invoicing, and project closure.
Oversee project budgets in collaboration with Global Medical Directors and Business Partners.
Engage and manage external vendors while ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with corporate procurement processes.
Identify project risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
Map cross-functional stakeholders, understand stakeholder needs, and build motivation and buy-in for project objectives.
Conduct ongoing assessments of existing systems and processes to identify gaps.
Propose innovative solutions and process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement

Drive projects independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional global teams.
Coordinate multiple stakeholders and ensure alignment throughout project execution.
Maintain project timelines, deliverables, budgets, and strategic objectives.
Apply an organised, strategic, and process-oriented approach to project delivery.
Build strong relationships with Medical Affairs stakeholders, Business Partners, vendors, and other project participants.

Medical Affairs & Scientific Environment

Operate within the Global Medical Affairs and Medical Communications environment.
Support communication of scientific and medical knowledge relating to Novo Nordisk products to external scientific communities and internal stakeholders.
Contribute to project management for external medical events and advisory boards.
Apply understanding of Medical Affairs processes where relevant.

Department & Global Collaboration

Work as part of Medical Communications – Global Medical Affairs, Product & Portfolio Strategy within Novo Nordisk GBS Bangalore.
Collaborate with global scientific advisors, project managers, graphic designers, and Global Medical Affairs teams in Denmark.
Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in life sciences, business, or a relevant field.
5–6 years of relevant experience in cross-functional project management, business development, or global event/meeting management within the pharmaceutical industry.
Strong communication skills.
Demonstrated interest and capability in project management and stakeholder engagement.
Experience in budget management and strategic planning.
Ability to work effectively within teams and independently drive projects.
Organised, strategic, and process-oriented mindset.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Expertise

Experience or understanding of Medical Affairs.
Pharmaceutical-industry experience involving global projects, events, meetings, or business development.
Experience managing KOL engagements, vendors, budgets, procurement activities, and advisory boards.

Business Impact

Ensure strategic and operationally flawless execution of global Medical Affairs projects and advisory boards.
Improve stakeholder alignment, project efficiency, vendor effectiveness, and budget management.
Identify process gaps and introduce innovative solutions that improve delivery across global Medical Communications activities.
