ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities
Platform Vision & Strategy: Develop and execute a 3-5 year platform vision and technology roadmap for Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance estate to ensure multi-year compliance, regulatory readiness, and measurable patient impact.
Pod Leadership & Engineering: Lead global product-aligned engineering pods, promoting a culture of technical ownership, reliability, continuous performance, and capability development.
Delivery & Architecture Guidance: Provide hands-on architectural guidance, technical governance, and cross-enterprise orchestration across cloud hosting, AI, data, and COTS solutions (Azure/AWS).
AI Enablement & Innovation: Drive deployment of modern AI/ML models, test automation, and dynamic workflow build tools (e.g., Claude, Kiro) to accelerate signal detection and safety data processing.
DevOps & Service Ownership: Maintain end-to-end service health, SRE practices, CI/CD pipelines, incident/problem resolution, and business continuity for drug safety platforms in GxP-regulated environments.
Vendor & Budget Governance: Oversee COTS platform vendors, manage commercial engagements, track service KPIs, and handle budget allocation for technology transformation initiatives.
Technical & Domain Standards
Pharmacovigilance Systems: Safety database architectures, case management workflows, signal detection tools, and GxP regulatory documentation standards.
Modern Engineering: Scalable microservices, event-driven architectures, AWS/Azure cloud platforms, CI/CD, DevOps, and SRE metrics.
Leadership & Executive Impact
Executive Communication: Translate complex technological platforms into business value, managing relationships across senior executives, safety scientists, and global IT leaders.
