ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain media stocks, including operation and monitoring of autoclave cycles for sterilization of laboratory accessories and media.
Manage receipt, handling, and controlled storage of BioBall cultures, master culture collections, and preparation of cryovials.
Perform routine and specialized microbiological testing including Water Analysis, Microbial Limit Testing (MLT), Sterility Testing, Bacterial Endotoxin Testing (BET/LAL), Container Closure Integrity Testing (CCIT), and microbial challenge studies.
Conduct sampling, labeling, and inspection of incoming raw materials, components, and finished pharmaceutical products in accordance with strict SOPs.
Interpret, evaluate, and trend microbiological data for accuracy, precision, and cGMP compliance, proactively identifying out-of-trend/specification results and recommending corrective actions.
Author, review, and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), analytical test methods, and validation protocols to maintain regulatory alignment.
Maintain complete and audit-ready documentation in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), including data entry and generation of EMS reports in computerized LIMS databases.
Technical & Domain Standards
Strong understanding of compendial standards (USP, EP, IP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
Hands-on expertise in sterility assurance, endotoxin detection, environmental monitoring, and microbial identification techniques.
Proficiency in operating and verifying specialized Quality Control instruments and laboratory equipment.
Leadership & Collaboration
Collaborate with cross-functional quality control, quality assurance, and manufacturing operations teams to uphold site sterility assurance.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, root cause investigations (OOS/OOT), and audit readiness.
