Role Overview
The Associate Director, Field Medical Affairs (Medical Science Liaison) will serve as a scientific and medical resource across the NYC and New Jersey territory, supporting Hematology-focused Medical Affairs activities. The role requires deep knowledge of B-Cell Malignancies, including Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL) and Multiple Myeloma, and involves scientific exchange with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, researchers, pharmacists and population-based decision makers.
Territory & Travel
Assigned territory covers New York City, including all boroughs, and New Jersey.
Candidate must reside within the assigned territory.
Approximately 70% business travel is expected.
Travel may include air travel, overnight stays and occasional weekend travel.
A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.
Core Medical Affairs Responsibilities
Identify and maintain lists of medical and therapeutic-area experts, investigator targets and associated action plans.
Establish, foster, cultivate and maintain relationships with KOLs specializing in hematological malignancies.
Serve as a primary clinical and scientific resource for disease-state and company-product information.
Ensure healthcare stakeholders have appropriate awareness and understanding of relevant scientific and medical information.
Respond to requests for information regarding study indications, disease states and therapeutic areas.
Present and discuss scientific and clinical data with external healthcare and research stakeholders.
Clinical Research & Investigator Engagement
Participate in development and management of company-sponsored clinical trials.
Establish scientific relationships with clinical investigators.
Collaborate with internal Medical Affairs teams and investigators to support investigator-initiated study (IIS) concept programs.
Identify gaps in research needs and create opportunities through collaboration with potential and existing investigators and site personnel.
Monitor and communicate developments in research and the treatment landscape to inform medical strategy.
KOL & Scientific Engagement
Build and maintain trusted relationships with experts in Hematological Malignancies.
Engage with KOLs, HCPs, researchers, pharmacists and other healthcare decision makers through scientific exchange.
Provide balanced scientific and clinical information within applicable compliance requirements.
Support strategic Medical Affairs objectives through field-generated insights and external engagement.
Medical Intelligence & Conferences
Attend medical conferences and gather relevant scientific, clinical and competitive intelligence.
Identify emerging research developments and changes in the treatment landscape.
Translate external scientific insights into information that can help shape Medical Affairs strategy.
Identify unmet research needs and opportunities for investigator collaboration.
Therapeutic Area Expertise
Demonstrate thorough understanding of B-Cell Malignancies.
Maintain expertise in Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and Multiple Myeloma.
Understand treatment guidelines and clinical research processes.
Apply scientific knowledge to discussions involving disease state, clinical data, treatment landscape and company products.

Conduct internal and external activities with integrity and professionalism.
Apply knowledge of FDA regulations and pharmaceutical regulations.
Follow compliant practices and applicable Office of Inspector General (OIG) guidelines.
Education & Experience Requirements
Terminal scientific degree required: MD, PharmD, PhD, DNP or DVM.
Minimum 8 years of professional experience required.
At least 4 years of experience within a Hematology/Oncology Medical Science Liaison function required.
Established relationships with KOLs and institutions focused on Hematologic Malignancies are expected.
Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, pharmaceutical compliance requirements and OIG guidelines required.
Preferred Qualifications
Established KOL relationships in Hematologic Malignancies.
Established relationships with relevant institutions.
Drug-launch experience preferred.
Strong understanding of hematology/oncology treatment landscapes and clinical research environments.
