ROLE OVERVIEW
Amgen, a global biotechnology leader, is establishing a strategic Innovation Center in Hyderabad to centralize commercial data management capabilities. This Senior Manager role is pivotal in building and leading the GCO Commercial Data Management team, insourcing operations from external vendors, and managing core commercial data platforms. The position directly supports Amgen's commercial organization—Analytics, Forecasting, Incentive Compensation, and Field Reporting—by ensuring robust, scalable data products. As Amgen harnesses biology and technology to fight serious diseases, this leader will drive innovation through Gen AI, AWS, Databricks, and IQVIA datasets. ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- •Build, hire, and develop a high-performing Commercial Data Management team in Hyderabad.
- •Lead insourcing of operational data management services from external vendors with minimal disruption.
- •Oversee operations of core commercial data platforms, partnering with Technology to drive cost efficiencies.
- •Manage Agile Product Teams executing platform enhancements, POCs, and Gen AI solutions using LLMs.
- •Collaborate with stakeholders across Analytics, Forecasting, Incentive Compensation, and Field Reporting.
- •Establish infrastructure governance processes covering costs, performance, and issue resolution.
- •Drive data product design leveraging IQVIA (DDD, XPO, LAAD), CRM, patient, and digital media data.
- •Foster continuous improvement, documentation, and cross-time-zone alignment with US and India teams.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree with 8–10 years or Bachelor’s with 10–14 years of data management experience.
- Proven success building, managing, and retaining data teams in India.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex vendor transitions and insourcing projects.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and English communication skills.
- Experience working in global teams across time zones and cultures.
- Familiarity with AWS, Databricks, and data platform operations.
- Track record of leading data transformation projects with global teams.
