Role Overview
The Vaccines Health and Science Professional (HSP) is responsible for promoting Pfizer's Vaccines Portfolio across customers and channels within the assigned territory. The role combines pharmaceutical sales, customer engagement, territory management, account development, product promotion, market access awareness and strategic business development. The position requires regular live in-field customer engagement in addition to virtual engagement.
Core Responsibilities
Drive sales within the assigned territory to maximize approved business objectives.
Engage customers through both face-to-face and virtual interactions.
Develop and implement effective business and territory call plans.
Identify and implement live and virtual engagement strategies to maximize customer engagement and business impact.
Build strong rapport and relationships with customers across live and virtual environments.
Use existing and evolving digital tools and platforms effectively to maintain successful customer engagement.
Apply a systematic approach to virtual customer interactions, including clear agendas, defined next steps and appropriate follow-ups.
Leverage internal reports and analytics to identify, develop and implement strategic business opportunities.
Use approved clinically oriented disease-state information and patient resources compliantly when promoting products.
Develop strong understanding of customer, market and business dynamics.
Identify barriers and business drivers across Public Health, Private Market, Retail and other relevant channels.
Collaborate compliantly with Field Medical, Account Management and other cross-functional colleagues to address customer inquiries and advance Pfizer objectives.
Complete administrative responsibilities accurately and on time, including customer-call documentation, expense submissions and responses to requests from sales leadership, managers and internal Pfizer partners.
Business & Territory Management
Support launches of new products and identify appropriate strategies for business relationships.
Understand and help secure formulary access within the assigned geography.
Conduct product promotion and sales activities in accordance with approved business objectives and compliance requirements.
Develop relationships with Therapeutic Area Specialists and Key Opinion Leaders.
Use market intelligence and customer insights to improve territory strategies.
Customer & Digital Engagement
Maintain effective customer relationships in both in-person and virtual settings.
Demonstrate strong customer engagement expertise across multiple digital platforms.
Use sound judgment to sustain customer interaction and deliver relevant information.
Demonstrate strong communication and follow-up capabilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum 2 years of experience in professional sales or promotional activity, small-business ownership/entrepreneurial experience, marketing, customer service, account management, relevant healthcare/scientific roles, education or full-time military experience.
Alternatively, an associate's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or a high-school diploma/equivalent with 8+ years of relevant experience.
Must live within 25 miles of the border of the assigned territory.
Valid U.S. driver's license and driving record meeting company standards are required.
Any DUI/DWI or other impaired-driving citation within the previous 7 years will disqualify the candidate.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 1 year of pharmaceutical, biotech, medical-sales or medical-related marketing experience.
Demonstrated sales or marketing success.
Strong territory-management skills.
Outstanding communication skills.
Demonstrated teamwork, leadership and accountability.
Vaccines therapeutic-area and product experience.
Knowledge of customers and markets in the posted territory, including prescribers, healthcare professionals, institutions and organizations.
Residence within the territory boundaries.
Employment Eligibility
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States by any employer. U.S. work-visa sponsorship, including TN, O-1 and H-1B sponsorship, is not available for this role now or in the future. The position requires permanent U.S. work authorization.
Compensation & Benefits
The annual base salary range is $76,000-$199,600. During initial new-hire sales training, the employee is classified as salary non-exempt and eligible for overtime; after training certification, the employee becomes overtime exempt. The position also provides an additional quarterly Sales Incentive bonus. Benefits include a 401(k) plan with Pfizer matching contributions and an additional Pfizer retirement savings contribution, paid vacation, holidays and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and medical, prescription-drug, dental and vision coverage. Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and eligibility.
