ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Role Overview
Execute AbbVie's brand strategy and commercial tactics within an assigned psychiatry territory.
Drive sales performance, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, and build strong customer relationships.
Identify and address customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance while keeping patients at the center of commercial activities.
Operate in accordance with AbbVie's business code of conduct, company policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
Core Sales Responsibilities
Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, and other assigned commercial goals.
Develop pre-call plans with clear objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales effectiveness.
Effectively address customer objections, misunderstandings, and concerns and seek logical calls to action during sales interactions.
Build trusted customer relationships by understanding customer needs, expectations, and challenges and working toward mutually beneficial outcomes.
Develop and execute territory call plans that achieve required call metrics and optimize customer coverage and frequency.
Maximize access to key customers and create additional sales opportunities through disciplined territory management.
Market & Customer Intelligence
Continuously develop knowledge of customer needs and expectations, territory market conditions, competitors, market segments, market dynamics, accounts, disease states, products, clinical information, and sales practices.
Share relevant market intelligence with in-field teams, brand teams, and sales managers to maintain alignment and anticipate environmental changes and challenges.
Use market intelligence to optimize brand strategy and field execution.
Value Proposition & Key Opinion Leadership
Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with assigned healthcare providers.
Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with disease-state experts, speakers, and advocates to support brand performance.
Scientific & Commercial Expertise
Demonstrate in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge.
Serve as an expert resource for relevant stakeholders.
Apply strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools.
Demonstrate strategic and critical-thinking capabilities.

Qualifications & Compliance
Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
In lieu of a bachelor's degree, at least 5 years of relevant experience is required, with 3 or more years of pharmaceutical, health, or science industry experience preferred; high school diploma/GED is required.
Proven success in pharmaceutical sales or a related therapeutic-area commercial environment is preferred.
Pharmaceutical commercial experience such as physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing is preferred.
English-language proficiency is required for applicable non-English-speaking-country positions.
Must satisfy applicable healthcare-industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain facility and organization access within the assigned territory.
HCIR requirements may include background checks, drug screening, proof of immunization/vaccination, fingerprinting, and other applicable credentials.
Valid driver's license required.
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet applicable safe-driving requirements.
Role involves driving a personal vehicle or company vehicle/truck or operating powered material-handling equipment where applicable.
Work Arrangement
Field-based position with Remote work location type.
Candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Full-time employment.
