ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Responsibilities

Develop and steward robust, transparent demand forecasts for strategic Oncology brands and therapy areas across short-, mid-, and long-term horizons.
Build and maintain product-specific forecasting models using patient-based and patient-flow approaches to reflect real-world diagnosis, treatment and patient movement dynamics.
Integrate patient flow dynamics, market research insights, secondary data and other relevant information into coherent forecast assumptions and outlooks.
Establish and document assumptions, confidence levels, risks and opportunities supporting high-stakes investment, access and prioritisation decisions.
Present and defend forecasting methodologies, assumptions and outputs to senior leadership and guide decisions around risks, opportunities and prioritisation.
Conduct scenario planning, sensitivity analysis and advanced modelling to quantify uncertainty and develop contingency plans.
Analyse brand performance drivers and support quarterly business reviews, sales bridges, business planning and ad hoc Finance and leadership requirements.
Monitor the competitive landscape, policy changes and broader Oncology market trends to keep forecasts current and grounded in market realities.
Develop short- and long-term volume forecasts for new product introductions and launches to support strategic and operational planning.
Lead assigned forecasting and business-planning processes and workstreams, codify standard methodologies and contribute to the evolution of forecasting capabilities.
Integrate multiple pharmaceutical data sources and analytical tools to improve objectivity, completeness and reliability of forecast inputs.
Participate in monthly S&OP activities, submit volumes and build weekly, monthly and yearly models and conversions that align operational planning with demand signals.
Drive continuous improvement through innovation in forecasting methodologies, automation and analytics.

Technical & Domain Expertise

Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Requires 10-15 years of direct pharmaceutical forecasting experience with in-depth knowledge of forecasting techniques, models and approaches.
Requires strong knowledge of Oncology and patient diagnosis, treatment pathways and treatment dynamics.
Requires understanding of the US reimbursement environment and US Oncology forecasting.
Requires experience incorporating market research and secondary data analysis into forecasting assumptions.
Requires experience with pharmaceutical industry data sources including IQVIA MIDAS, DDD, NPA and Monthly Xponent, claims datasets such as Truven and MarketScan, epidemiological data, and US TRx, NBRx and NRx methodologies.
Requires strong analytical expertise, advanced Excel capability, financial modelling and forecasting skills.
Requires project management capability, including risk mitigation, planning and management of multiple concurrent projects.
Requires strong relationship-building skills across Marketing, Analytics, Operations and Technology stakeholders.
Requires demonstrated problem-solving and continuous-improvement capability.
Requires strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Expertise

Advanced degree such as PhD, MBA or Master's degree is preferred.
Knowledge of sophisticated statistical forecasting methodologies and applied AI, machine learning and automation is desirable.
Power Apps and Power BI experience is desirable.
Understanding of US Market Access, the US Oncology landscape and gross-to-net concepts is preferred.

Working Model

Based at Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore.
Operates on a 2 PM-11 PM IST shift to enable real-time collaboration with US-based colleagues.
Hybrid working model with an expectation of working from the office an average minimum of three days per week.

The role places forecasting at the centre of strategic decisions concerning investment, market access, prioritisation, product launches and commercial planning.
Forecast outputs are intended to provide leadership with trusted, decision-shaping views of demand, uncertainty, risks and opportunities for Oncology products.
The position collaborates with scientists, commercial leaders, data authorities and cross-functional teams to improve how medicines are invested in, launched and scaled.
