ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES

Role Overview

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Senior Programmer Analyst to perform advanced bioinformatics and statistical programming activities for clinical research projects. The role functions as a lead programmer on select moderately complex studies or contributes to complex studies under a lead programmer, while providing mentorship and training to junior team members.

Core Responsibilities

Lead Programming: Serve as the lead programmer on moderately complex clinical studies, collaborating directly with project team leaders and client representatives to establish and fulfill project goals, deliverables, and timelines.
Data Integration & Transformation: Independently create, execute, maintain, and validate programs transferring data across multiple data management or operating systems, combining varied data sources and structures, and managing summary data.
Deliverable Generation: Develop, validate, and store clinical reports, listings, tables, and figures (TLFs) using SAS, ensuring full compliance with project and regulatory specifications.
Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Assume active leadership within multi-disciplinary clinical trials project teams, maintaining frequent and transparent communication across all stakeholders.
Quality Control & Compliance: Perform thorough quality control (QC) reviews for statistical programming deliverables, maintaining strict adherence to contractual obligations, departmental SOPs, and working practices.

Leadership & Mentorship

Junior Staff Guidance: Actively train, mentor, and guide junior programmers on statistical programming standards, validation workflows, and data management concepts.
Departmental Infrastructure: Contribute to departmental initiatives including SOP creation, training material development, presenting at meetings, representing the organization at industry conferences, and supporting the bidding process.

Working Conditions

Shift: Second Shift (Afternoons).
Environment: Office-based setting with occasional local, domestic, or international travel to site locations.
