ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities & Database Engineering
Design, build, configure, and optimize clinical database architectures to address complex processing demands while aligning with computer infrastructure capacities and operational requirements.
Execute clinical database analysis, schema modifications, and performance tuning for production environments.
Maintain high operational standards and database reliability by monitoring query response times, execution plans, and throughput metrics.
Administration, Security & Data Integrity
Formulate and implement comprehensive database backup, recovery, and data archival procedures.
Author Data Definition Language (DDL) scripts, manage database objects, enforce referential integrity, and apply strict data security access controls.
Perform proactive performance tuning, denormalization, capacity sizing, and routine maintenance across production database environments.
Participate in database architecture consultations, design reviews, and study database set-up evaluations.
