Manager, Operational Excellence (Lean Six Sigma)
By Admin · Quality Assurance & Quality Control
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Manager, Operational Excellence at Pfizer's Vizag manufacturing campus sits at the intersection of Lean Six Sigma methodology, GMP compliance and enterprise-wide continuous improvement. Operating inside Pfizer's Integrated Manufacturing Excellence (IMEx) framework, this role deploys the company's global operating system across a high-volume, regulated production site, converting shop-floor data into measurable performance gains. Because Vizag also supports translation and dossier execution documentation, the position directly influences inspection readiness and the speed at which Pfizer files and launches products in global markets. For a certified Black Belt, this is a rare opportunity to own programme governance, coach cross-functional teams and build capability at scale, with high visibility to senior leadership across manufacturing, quality, regulatory affairs and supply chain.
ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- •Lead and co-lead continuous improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma (DMAIC) tools to deliver validated financial and process benefits.
- •Develop, execute and refresh the site's IMEx (Integrated Manufacturing Excellence) implementation roadmap in line with Pfizer global standards.
- •Partner with business stakeholders to define, design and track performance measures, tiered dashboards and escalation routines.
- •Coach, facilitate and mentor project teams, and deliver Yellow Belt training to build a sustainable local improvement capability pipeline.
- •Maintain programme governance covering project reviews, communications, certifications, and reward and recognition cycles.
- •Perform statistical studies and data analysis, translating results into visualisations that trigger action and business decisions.
- •Own procedural documentation for translation and dossier execution, ensuring adherence to internal standards and audit readiness.
- •Support internal and external audits and inspections, and help close compliance observations linked to improvement processes.
- •Forecast resource requirements and act as the key interface to other divisions for cross-functional project modelling.
