ROLE OVERVIEW

Manages Clinical Data Management professionals and ensures efficient delivery of high-quality databases and data-management deliverables. Combines technical CDM expertise, people leadership, project oversight, client support and operational management.

ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • •Manage and support Clinical Data Management professionals and oversee delivery of customer-focused databases
  • •Provide expert review and guidance for CRF/e-CRF, database design, database setup, validation definition and programming, Data Management Plans and database deliverables
  • •Train, mentor and coach staff while identifying professional development needs
  • •Manage project staffing, scheduling, workload planning, utilization and associated action plans
  • •Conduct regular meetings with direct reports covering project status, timelines, financials, risks, utilization and career objectives
  • •Support proposals, RFI/RFP responses, budgets, bid defenses and kick-off meetings
  • •Support internal and external audits and inspections and ensure staff are prepared
  • •Communicate effectively between leadership, direct reports, teams and clients while proactively managing risks and business outcomes
Reporting Hierarchy: Reports to Clinical Data Management leadership; Directly manages Data Management professionals and collaborates with project leads, customers and senior leadership in a matrix environment

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Clinical, Biological or Mathematical Sciences or related field, or nursing qualification
  • 7 years of relevant work experience including people management
  • Advanced knowledge of Data Management processes and systems
  • Strong understanding of clinical drug development and Data Management deliverables
  • Staff management, leadership, communication, mentoring and coaching skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • •Experience with clinical data management systems and processes
  • •Experience in project financial management including EAC, forecasting and burn-rate monitoring
  • •Experience supporting proposals, bid defenses, audits and inspections
  • •Experience working in a matrix service-delivery environment
