ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Responsibilities

Manage a small team of clinical data management project staff and oversee the workload of direct reports.
Support staff management activities including interviewing and selection, job-description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching, mentoring, employee counseling and separations.
Approve or support decisions involving salary administration, hiring, corrective action and terminations, as applicable.
Review and approve time records, expense reports, leave requests and overtime.
Provide portfolio-team support, oversight and coaching to ensure assigned tasks are completed accurately, on time and within budget while meeting or exceeding client expectations.
Manage staff resourcing and allocations, including global resourcing reporting and strategic resource planning with senior management.
Ensure staff comply with documented procedures, regulatory expectations, SOPs and client requirements.
Assist with operational implementation activities for studies or portfolios, with a strong focus on quality and effective support for the Study Manager.
Participate in developing and implementing processes, procedures and training for the Clinical Data Management function.

Technical & Domain Expertise

Apply clinical data management knowledge and skills in an organised manner while adhering to regulatory guidelines, SOPs and client expectations.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail and numerical ability.
Maintain a high degree of confidentiality when handling clinical data and client proprietary information.
Act as a study expert for Data Management processes.
Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to clinical research and data management activities.

Leadership & Business Impact

Provide leadership, supervision, motivation and delegation for assigned staff.
Establish and meet timelines for self and team while responding appropriately to changing project demands.
Coach and mentor project staff to improve performance, capability and professional development.
Partner with senior management on training, mentoring, workforce allocation and resource strategy.
Help maintain high-quality clinical research delivery and support client expectations across assigned studies or portfolios.

Communication & Collaboration

Communicate effectively in written and verbal English with strong command of English language and grammar.
Build effective interpersonal relationships with project staff, senior management and other stakeholders.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive clinical and client information.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant formal academic or vocational qualification.
Previous experience providing the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position, stated by the employer as comparable to 0-5 years.
At least 1 year of leadership responsibility.
Equivalent combinations of education, training and directly related experience may be considered in some cases.

Working Conditions

The position is listed as Fully Remote in Bangalore.
Standard Monday-Friday work schedule.
