ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Role Overview
Entry-level LabVantage LIMS Master Data Analyst role within Lilly's Global Manufacturing & Quality Labs – Lab Systems team in Hyderabad.
The team delivers and sustains laboratory informatics platforms supporting GMP-compliant laboratory operations across Lilly's global manufacturing network.
The role supports LabVantage LIMS module development, QC laboratory operations, master-data management, system configuration, validation, GxP compliance, integrations, automation, and ongoing platform support.
The position operates under supervision and emphasizes learning, AI, automation, scripting, integrations, and scalable laboratory technology solutions.
Master Data, Configuration & System Integration
Develop configuration, creation, and lifecycle management of analytical test methods in LabVantage LIMS.
Maintain interconnected master data required for end-to-end test-method workflows.
Implement test templates, specifications, and parameter lists to support standardization and scalability across products and sites.
Build test scenarios, test documents, and test-method templates.
Develop custom scripts for data transfer and verification activities.
Define and maintain test-method metadata structures supporting automation, including units, limits, calculations, and result-entry templates.
Technical Development & Platform Support
Analyze, triage, and resolve LabVantage system issues through root-cause analysis using both business and technical knowledge.
Participate in incident triage and assist with identifying root causes.
Learn to develop simple scripts and business rules and use LabVantage SDK components under mentorship.
Assist with troubleshooting instrument integrations and data exchange between laboratory and enterprise systems, including ERP, ELN, QMS, MES, EM, and analytics systems.
Develop and maintain custom reports, APIs, and interfaces to support information flow and system interoperability.
Apply automated testing frameworks and tools to validate configuration changes and regression scenarios in future-state environments.
Follow release processes and maintain version-controlled configuration and code.
Quality, Validation & Compliance
Perform work according to GxP requirements, 21 CFR Part 11, and ALCOA++ data-integrity principles.
Assist with design specifications, configuration documentation, and validation test scripts for IQ/OQ/PQ activities.
Participate in change control, release management, and deployment activities required to maintain the validated state of systems.
Support validation automation by executing test scripts and documenting test results.
Maintain strong documentation discipline and compliance throughout configuration, testing, deployment, and support activities.
Support, Maintenance & Continuous Improvement
Act as part of the extended maintenance team supporting Master Data incidents and service requests.
Contribute knowledge-base articles based on resolved issues and support activities.
Support platform upgrades, patches, and regression testing, including automated testing where applicable.
Identify small enhancements and process improvements and propose improvement ideas to senior team members.
Maintain reusable checklists and configuration artifacts to improve onboarding, consistency, and scalability.
AI, Automation & Digital Technology
Contribute to building an agentic AI ecosystem with emphasis on usability and scalability.
Share AI best practices and participate in AI governance implementation.
Apply AI and automation concepts to laboratory informatics and operational processes.
Develop technical capability in scripting, automation, and system integrations through mentorship.
Exposure to OpenAI and AI tools, including Claude, is relevant to the role.
Technical Environment
Knowledge of AI, OpenAI, cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS, and SQL queries.
Understanding of full-stack development, GitHub versioning and branching, front-end development, and API integration.
Interest in LabVantage configuration and scripting using Java, Groovy, and SQL.
Exposure to APIs, middleware, reporting tools, REST/SOAP APIs, and data-exchange concepts.
Python and backend-development experience is an advantage.
Familiarity with Azure-hosted application concepts is desirable.
Experience or willingness to learn test-automation tools in validated environments is desirable.
Interest in master-data governance, Git-based version control, and change/release management.
Familiarity with JIRA, ALM, ServiceNow, and Lucidchart is useful.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or an equivalent discipline.
3+ years of experience with LIMS or related laboratory/IT systems; the posting states that internships or academic projects may be acceptable toward this experience requirement.
Foundational understanding of laboratory workflows and compliance principles in pharmaceutical or life-sciences environments.
Interest in learning LabVantage configuration, Java/Groovy/SQL scripting, and validation practices.
