ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities
Serve as the executive head of Roche Digital Technology (RDT) for Pharma Medicines at the India Center in Hyderabad, acting as a strategic business partner to the Pharma Medicines Leadership Team. Establish and lead the new Hyderabad capability and delivery center supporting Pharma Commercial and Pharma Technical Operations.
Digital & AI Leadership
Co-create and drive the Pharma Medicines digital strategy.
Establish and govern the MLOps framework for compliant, reliable, and scalable deployment of AI and ML solutions.
Partner with RDT Foundation teams to align technology roadmaps with Pharma Medicines business requirements.
Operationalize AI and advanced analytics across the pharmaceutical value chain.
Translate data-driven insights into measurable operational improvements.
Define and track KPIs and ROI for major digital and AI initiatives.
Strategic & Executive Partnership
Act as a strategic partner to senior RDT and Pharma Medicines leaders.
Participate in business steering committees and influence sub-function strategy.
Manage a global portfolio of projects tied to critical business outcomes.
Negotiate with senior decision makers and resolve complex organizational and technology challenges.
Product & Engineering Governance
Enable product vision, strategy, and roadmaps for platforms within the domain.
Lead Product Managers and Engineering Team Leads.
Ensure continuous improvement, reliable operation, and high-quality delivery of the product portfolio.
Provide senior technical leadership across platform teams.
Drive architectural coherence and major cross-domain technology initiatives.
Provide technical mentorship to senior engineering staff, including IT/OT convergence.
Financial & Operational Management
Oversee financial, contractual, and operational health of the Hyderabad scope.
Manage global budgets and monitor portfolio performance.
Ensure operational efficiency and uninterrupted production support.
Maintain a first-time-right mindset and strong service and quality standards.
Talent, Community & Vendor Strategy
Lead multiple levels of management and develop senior leadership talent.
Build a Pharma Medicines AI and Digital Operations community in India.
Establish strategic relationships with external technology vendors and partners.
Promote innovation, accountability, psychological safety, and high performance.
Regulatory & Compliance
Apply deep pharmaceutical process knowledge across commercial and operations environments.
Ensure compliance with GxP, GMP, and applicable global pharmaceutical regulatory standards.
Act as executive authority for digital audit integrity.
Ensure mission-critical production systems are designed and operated in accordance with regulatory requirements.
