ROLE DEFINITION & RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Responsibilities

Develop and maintain sustainable operational processes and relationships with Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) supporting outsourced medical supply chain activities.
Manage supply activities for Externally Sponsored Research (ESR) studies requiring commercial product supply, Managed Access Programs (MAP), Post Trial Access (PTA), humanitarian programs, and related distribution activities.
Lead outsourced supply management from supply forecasting through product delivery to sponsor locations and investigational sites, including packaging and labelling where applicable.
Coordinate with Medical Operations, Manufacturing & Supply, Distribution, Clinical Supply Chain Operations, and CMC teams.
Provide oversight of outsourced medical supply operations, including CMO KPI tracking and invoice reviews.
Ensure supply activities are properly captured in Sanofi and CMO systems for complete tracking and chain of custody and efficient product supply/resupply to Healthcare Professionals.
Manage CMO relationships, performance monitoring, compliance verification, quality standards, and delivery commitments.
Identify and manage product-supply risks and support monthly and quarterly program business reviews.

Quality, Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and pharmaceutical quality standards across the supply chain.
Ensure appropriate storage conditions, temperature control, chain-of-custody documentation, and pharmaceutical record keeping.
Support internal and external audit readiness and timely closure of audit findings.
Support CAPA management for supply deviations and non-conformances.
Contribute to root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Investigate operational issues, identify root causes, recommend remediation plans, and implement backup plans when required.

People & Stakeholder Management

Report to the Team Lead – Supply Operations within Sanofi Business Operations.
Act as a key contact for CMOs and coordinate with internal stakeholders.
Represent the team in supply and manufacturing discussions and communicate supply issues and resolutions effectively.
Respond to ad hoc requests from Business Unit and local/regional teams concerning supply forecasts and shipment information.
Maintain strong relationships with Medical Operations, Humanitarian, and PTA teams.
Collaborate with Quality, Clinical Supply Chain Operations, country supply chains, CMC, Finance, Procurement, Regulatory Affairs, distribution partners, logistics providers, and country medical teams.
Share knowledge and best practices and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.

Performance & Continuous Improvement

Ensure deliverables meet timelines, quality targets, and compliance requirements.
Monitor CMO service levels and report KPI and operational metrics through dashboards.
Track individual delivery milestones and operational KPIs and report them regularly to the Team Lead.
Identify opportunities to improve tools, technology, processes, quality, and productivity.
Deliver projects with agility, high quality, and agreed timelines.
Adapt existing procedures to resolve moderately complex operational problems.

Supply Planning & Operations

Perform supply planning and order management, including cross-checking orders against forecasts.
Support CMO Request for Proposal (RFP) and Technical Conditions activities.
Own program/study demand forecasts in Kinaxis, including data entry, alignment with open orders and financial plans, and communication with local/regional teams regarding demand drivers and gaps.
Identify, communicate, and escalate causes of forecast variations.
Support Global Medical Operations with financial planning, including financial plan development three times per year, quarterly landing exercises, and year-end shipment tracking.
Perform monthly shipment reconciliation and resolve shipment discrepancies.
Work with Global Supply Planning to secure supply for product requests.
Ensure contractual requirements such as minimum shelf life and packaging updates are met.
Manage order backlogs with Global Medical Operations, customer service, and local markets.
Track CMO inventory and replenishment planning.
Maintain compliant documentation and records under pharmaceutical regulations and internal quality systems.
Drive operational best practices and help scale team capabilities.

Qualifications & Expertise

5+ years of experience in clinical/medical supply operations, including demand and supply forecasting and packaging/labelling order management.
Demonstrated experience managing vendor relationships and outsourced operations.
Pharmacy, Chemical/Process Engineering, Biotechnology/Life Sciences, Industrial/Production Engineering, or Supply Chain/Operations Management education.
Working knowledge of Kinaxis and supply chain management systems.
Understanding of GDP, GMP, pharmaceutical regulations, and quality management principles.
Experience with data analytics and supply chain systems.
Strong administrative and organizational abilities.
Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
